Echipa nationala de handbal feminin a Romaniei a fost invinsa, in grupa preliminara C la Suzhou, de campioana europeana si olimpica Norvegia, scor 25-24 (14-12).

Marcatoarele echipei Romaniei au fost Neagu 9 goluri, Amariei 6, Lecusanu 4, Varzaru 3, Maier 2, in timp ce pentru Norvegia s-au remarcat Nostvold si Frafjord, cu cate 4.

Primul meci din grupa a II-a principala va avea loc sambata, cu echipa de pe locul trei in grupa D, China. Grupa D a fost castigata de Spania (10 puncte), iar pe locul trei s-a clasat China (6 puncte).
